Mercedes ML windscreen washer jets not working

The windscreen washer jets on the Mercedes ML tend to get blocked with gunk pretty regularly. With new washer jets costing in excess of £20 GBP each ( a total of 3 ), there has to be a cheaper solution to this issue. The tried and tested solution which works on almost all washer jet systems is the use of vinegar.

Empty the washer fluid reservoir by operating the front windscreen washer jets from the steering column switch. If that doesnt empty the bottle as a result of the jets being completely blocked, you could also try to disconnect one of the hoses connected to the bottle found on your right hand corner under the bonnet. Now pour in a 500ml bottle of vinegar into the windscreen washer reservoir and operate the washer jets from inside the car until all the vinegar has circulated through the system. The washer jet nozzles should start clearing up slowly. You could pour in another 500ml of vinegar if you notice some improvements but could do with more clearing up.

You must be careful not to get any vinegar sprayed on to yourself whilst testing the system out otherwise you will be smelling like fish and chips for a while :)
