Eos Dares Wins, VW Does It Again
|
Volkswagen has created a masterpiece again. When you think about a convertible, the first thing that comes to mind is a noisy ride, an insecure feeling etc. but VW have gone to great lengths to make sure the Eos changes that concept. Although the name Eos doesn’t sound very appealing, the body design, interior and the drive all bring a smile to your face. Volkswagen also seems to have made a cabriolet model which doesn’t actually look like a cabriolet with the hard top up. Why you would want a cab to not look like a cab has always been beyond me but apparently some people go to great extremes to achieve that effect for some reason and VW seems to have answered their call. The leg room for the passengers at the back has been an issue with most convertibles but the VW Eos offers a nice comfortable ride even at the back. The folding roof mechanism is quite a spectacle and looks complicated but it gives a feel of some nice bit of engineering having gone into the design. The Eos is well placed in the market to rival other popular models in its class but insurance prices will be slightly higher due to the VW brand. Having said that, it works to VW’s advantage as some people would prefer to show off in a more expensive cabriolet in the same market band and keep the Eos and their No. 1 choice.
