Long gone are the days when Mercedes was renowned for the highest quality finishes in the luxury market. Unfortunately, recent Mercedes models including the S class seem to be slowly reducing in quality especially with regards to the cheap plastic feel interiors, buttons and even the exterior paint finishes being of a lower quality not withstanding a few seasonal rains.
The new Mercedes C Class is stiffer, roomier, comes with agility control which automatically alters damper control and cornering response with relation to road conditions but the overall interior feel falls short of the standards offered by rivals BMW and Audi.
Mercedes also seems to make you pay for every little extra you may desire for example even the rear split, folding seats for the C class will cost you extra. Although Mercedes smashed 100 C classes to test the safety and run tests, it seems the customers have to bear the brunt of this expenditure in the form of high prices.
Although some technical features have improved on the previous models, some silly features like the foot pedal hand brake to go with the manual models is a let down and the use of cheap material to define the interior and yet demand the highest prices in the market may just cost Mercedes its top place.
